Has anyone noticed the new attachments on the Power Trac site

Who will be the first to get one!

I can't decide if I like the grapple. What does everyone else think?

The bolt-on thumb looks interesting -- especially at that price. I think it is likely heavy/strong enough, and would likely work pretty well. It would be nice if you could fold it back and pin it up out of the way when not needed. In comparision, I paid about $235 delivered (as I recall) for my thumb and had to have it welded on. Pics are in the photo gallery.

The grapple looks interesting, but I question if the bottom is strong enough, without being able to see if there is any reinforcement there. I'd be concerned about bending the whole bottom back when simultaneously lifting the bucket and driving forward at the same time. The force transmitted would be more than just the lift capacity (800 lbs at the QA plate) with the addition force of the wheel motors pushing forward, and it would be multiplied by the depth of the bottom plate (distance from the tip of the teeth to the back of the grapple at the QA plate).

IF -- and that's a big IF, IMO -- it is strong enough to where you don't bend it, it would be a great tool at that price. It would hold more brush than the grapple bucket (because of no bucket sides), and the openings in the bottom would help serve as a root-type grapple, letting dirt and debris fall out, in addition to using it as a land plane/leveler as they describe...
